In a high profile move, WAMY signs an agreement with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Indonesia to extend cooperation in Islamic programmes and support structures for students and the youth in the country. The ceremony was attended by the Indonesian Minister of Islamic Affairs, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Indonesia, WAMY reps in Jakarta and other dignitaries.
This initiative marks the culmination of continuous efforts of cooperation and support programmes for the youth and students WAMY has been implementing in Indonesia. WAMY office in Jakarta has been the hub for numerous educational programmes from which thousands of young people have benefited. This new agreement is an acknowledgment of the importance of the existing work and an appreciation and welcome of further cooperation between the Indonesian government and WAMY in protecting the youth from deviance and extremism.
